Main Street Beach Bash today

MILLEDGEVILLE — After inclement weather rained on last week’s First Friday festivities, the Main Street Beach Bash is back on for today.

Due to bad weather the First Friday Beach Bash had to be moved to the second Friday in June. The Beach Bash will take place at an earlier time, from 3 to 8 p.m. today.

Attendees will be able to enjoy beach toys, games, and more during the fun at the beach.

Instead of the usual 60 tons, this year there will be 80 tons of sand dropped in the post office parking lot downtown.

The Crazy Dog Studio will be in attendance and ready to do some beach-themed face paintings along with the ORMC Kids’ Corner. The Kids Corner will have games and silly photo ops the whole family will enjoy. Also back for another First Friday will be L.O.V.E. for Haiti selling tasty snow cones for a cool treat. Summer tunes will fill the air while the crowd enjoys the urban beach!

The Fall Line Farmers Market is joining in on this special Second Friday fun with fresh blackberries, peaches, homemade peach ice cream and more of summer's local harvest. The market is held from 5 to 8 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown Milledgeville. Please note that the market will not begin early like the beach bash. Kids will love to pet Wellington, a two-week-old baby bull calf and other adorable Barnyard Babies brought by Oasis Family Farm.

Enjoy live music performed by singer-songwriter Craig Hendricks. For more information on the Fall Line Farmers Market call 478-414-6433.

The long awaited for downtown Milledgeville scene T-shirt has been designed by the talented downtown business, The 42nd Floor. The shirt will be debuted on Friday and it will cost $15.

This event is entirely made possible by the generous donation of sand and delivery by Fowler Flemister and the Standard Sand Company as well as the tiresome cleanup handled by the City of Milledgeville.

For more information on First Friday and the Beach Bash call 478-414-4014.
