College student beaten badly New Year's Eve

A Georgia College student was left unconscious with severe head injuries after an apparent fight New Year's Eve.

Maj. Reggie Hill of the Milledgeville Police Department said officers were originally unsure about the events that harmed Lamar Mearbeau Graham, but as of Thursday, detectives are running with possible aggravated assault charges.

Det. Scott Goodwin said an altercation occurred behind Chops at 119 S. Wayne St., and MPD is currently seeking two white male persons of interest.

One is a medium framed, dark haired male with a beard last seen wearing a flannel type shirt, according to Goodwin. Also, a white-male with short blonde hair accompanying the other involved party is also of interest to the case.

A complainant informed the police that he stepped outside and located the white male laying in the parking lot.

Police found Graham behind Chops on 119 S. Wayne St. early Wednesday morning around 1:38 a.m.

The police officer made contact with Graham, who appeared to be unresponsive and bleeding from his head. Emergency personnel were immediately notified.

The injured man was transported to Oconee Regional Medical Center for treatment by EMS.

Emergency Room personnel advised MPD that Graham had sustained several lacerations to the face and head. CT Scans also indicated a skull fracture and possible brain bleeding.

Graham was then transferred to Macon Medical Center for further treatment, where he is in stable condition at last report.

MPD spoke with Chops and Capitol City management and asked if they could review video surveillance in the area to locate the injured male or any incident that occurred.

The report said Rocky Duncan advised that he would contact the Police Department if video footage surfaced.

Anyone with more information on the altercation or persons of interests can contact the MPD Tip Line at 478-414-4413.
