The historic Brown-Stetson-Sanford House invites the community to “It’s a Gingerbread Christmas” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Drop by the house on the corner of Hancock and Jackson streets and enjoy cider and gingerbread, have a picture made with Santa and see the museum’s collection of vintage quilts on display.
“As part of the house's 188th Christmas season, this event is also our way of saying ‘Thank you’ to those who have provided support this year for the house and its educational mission — the City of Milledgeville, the foundations that have awarded grants, the loyal donors, and the hundreds of volunteers,” said Dr. Amy Wright, executive director of Georgia's Old Capital Museum and the Brown-Stetson-Sanford House. “In addition to refurbishing the Dining Room, over the past year we increased the number of tours and programs on the history of the house and garden, and added catering services. Our ‘Stetson Family Tour’ for local fifth and eighth grade students in October was the best ever! We encourage members of the community to celebrate the season with us and learn more about this historic treasure.”
There is no charge for “It's a Gingerbread Christmas” and the public is invited; however, donations are appreciated.
