Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Thomas Couey of Milledgeville are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Stacey Jean Couey, to Ronnie Justin Womack, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Junious Womack of Swainsboro.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John R. Mathews Jr. of Moultrie, Mrs. Vernon Thomas Couey of Glenwood, Ga., and the late Vernon Thomas Couey. She is a graduate of Georgia Military College high school and Georgia College & State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. She was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and the Georgia College & State University women’s basketball team. She is a member of Hardwick Christian Church. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in special education from the University of Georgia. She is employed by Effingham County Board of Education at South Effingham High School as a health and physical education teacher and as a head girl’s varsity basketball coach.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie O. Edenfield of Millen and the late Mr. and Mrs. Junious Womack of Garfield. He is an honor graduate of Swainsboro High School and GC&SU, where he received a bachelor’s degree in health and physical education. He was a member of the Georgia College & State University varsity baseball team. He attends First Baptist Church of Swainsboro. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in education leadership from the University of Phoenix. He is employed by Emanuel County Board of Education at Swainsboro High School as a special education teacher and as a coach of football, baseball and golf.
The wedding is planned for June 2007 in Milledgeville.
