Coach Audrey Stanton and the Baldwin High volleyball team continue to roll!

The Bravettes came in as runner-up in the GHSA 3-AAA Region Tournament that was held at West Laurens Oct. 10. Baldwin defeated Liberty County in the first game 25-20, 25-23.

The Bravettes then faced off with the number one seeded Richmond Hill Wildcats, who edged Baldwin 25-13, 23-25, 25-20. The Bravettes then dropped to the losers bracket for the next round.

Once again, Baldwin was pitted against Liberty County and again came away victorious 20-25, 25-22 and 25-22.

Then came Richmond Hill and the championship game.

“During the regular season, my girls did not beat Richmond Hill — not one game,” said Stanton.

The Wildcats won the first and third game 25-9, 25-13, but Baldwin stormed back and won the second game 25-16. The fourth game went back and forth with great serves, passes, spikes and tips. Finally, Richmond Hill pulled it out with a score of 25-22, winning the match 3-1. The Bravettes were then rewarded for their accomplishments and hard work.

“Because we won second place, we will host the first round at Baldwin High this Saturday at 11:00 am.,” said Stanton.

Admission to Saturday’s big game is $5. Baldwin will be facing North Hall out of Gainesville. Only one match will be played. The Bravettes will need to win it to stay in it.

“It can not take them a game to get themselves together. If they play with heart and up to their potential, we will prevail and host the next round. If everyone on the floor is on one accord, we will come out victorious,” said Stanton.

Everyone is invited to come out and support the Bravettes on Saturday.
