Baldwin All-Stars finish tourney undefeated

The Baldwin All-stars clinched the tournament title Monday at Walter B. Williams park as the the team defeated Baldwin’s second All-star squad 21-4.
The game was tied 3-3 after the first inning, but the Baldwin All-Stars I rattled off nine runs in the second, and nine more in the fourth to break the game open.
The win concludes an undefeated weekend in which the team beat Augusta National 17-12, Martinez Evans National 6-1, and Master city 12-1.
With a scoring margin of 56-18, All-Stars coach Mike Massey feels the team can compete with the best.
“I feel like if we hit the ball like that, we can play with anyone, plus out pitching and defense were excellent,” said Massey.
The team will play in another tournament this coming weekend in Elberton.
The second Baldwin All-Stars team did not fair quite as well losing all four games in the round robin tournament, but coach Chad Wilson was still pleased with his team’s performance.
“It was a little disappointing, but the kids had fun. They played good,” said Wilson.
After the game, both teams received All-Star pins for their participation. The Baldwin All-Stars I also received first place plaques.
