The Georgia Military College Prep varsity baseball team completed its season sweep of Twiggs County on Wednesday, defeating the Cobras 10-0 in five innings.
The mercy rule ended the game early.
Will Parker earned the win for GMC Prep, giving a complete game effort. Parker went five innings, striking out seven and walking none. He gave up one hit and no earned runs.
GMC Prep went up early and never looked back. The Bulldogs scored one in the first and two in the second, third and fourth. Three in the fifth capped off the win. Twiggs never got a runner past first base.
Matthew Harrison led GMC Prep at the plate, going 2-for-2 with a triple, a double and two RBIs. Parker went 1-for-1, Clint Crawley went 1-for-2, Rod Dudley went 1-for 2, Jake Meeks went 1-for-2 and Mech Melder went 1-for-2.
The Bulldogs final regular season game is scheduled for Friday against Wilkinson County. First pitch will be at 5:30 p.m. It is also GMC Prep’s senior day.
