Reliving a horrendous experience is often painful. But it can bring closure.
Tuesday’s execution of convicted murderer John Washington Hightower closes a 20-year chapter of Milledgeville’s history.
Hightower shot and killed his 41-year-old wife Dorothy Hightower and her two daughters Sandra Reaves, 22, and 19-year-old Evelyn Reaves in July 1987 in the McKinley Street family home.
Dorothy’s 3-year-old niece was in the house that night.
