The organizers of the second annual Take Back the Night 5K and 10.5K Race would like to thank the community for its support in the 2010 event, which was held Oct. 9.
Much appreciation is given to all of our sponsors who make it possible for this event to occur each year. The runners are greatly appreciated as they travel not only locally, but throughout the state and surrounding states to participate in the event. Thanks to all of the volunteers to include Shawn Mercer, President of the Exchange Club, who walked in early that morning with his family and asked, “What can we do?”
For all of the businesses that contributed not only their products, but their time; we greatly appreciate all of your support. A special thank you to Chick-fil-A Restaurants and Nutra-Lite for donating much needed nourishment for the race participants. Thanks to the local newspapers and businesses for the advertising of the race and allowing distribution of registration forms.
It was awesome to see the local schools involved this year. Baldwin High did an excellent job providing a banner for domestic violence awareness and provided a water station for our runners on the track.
Last, but not least, a huge thank you to the Log Cabin Road and Airport Road community residents who are so patient and understanding during the time that our event is actually occurring.
Again, a heartfelt thanks to everyone that supported the 2010 Race.
