Dorothy Hawkins

MILLEDGEVILLE —  

Dorothy Simmons Hawkins, age 87, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m.  Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at West View Cemetery with Rev. Linda Gattis officiating. 

Mrs. Hawkins was a native of Putnam County but had made her home in Milledgeville where she was a homemaker and member of Montpelier United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by parents James Pearman Simmons and Flossie Heath Simmons Hill; two brothers James Pearman Simmons Jr., and Bobby S. Simmons. 

Survivors include two sons, Reese Watkins “Tripp” Bradford III of Milledgeville and Robert Pearman Bradford of Blythe; a daughter Flo Lavender of Milledgeville; two sisters, Frances Tennile of Putnam County and Jean Summerlin (William) of Milledgeville; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice Care 2601 N. Columbia St. Milledgeville, GA 31061.
