Dena Virginia Layfield Snow

MILLEDGEVILLE — Dena Virginia Layfield Snow, 74, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 7, at Black Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Andrew Elston and the Rev. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Snow was a native and lifelong resident of Baldwin County. She retired from Piggly Wiggly Southern with more than 40 years of service. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard Franklin and Sarah Swint Smith Layfield. She was a member of Black Springs Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. 

Survivors include her husband, Rufus Snow of Milledgeville, two sons, Tom Smith (Kem) of Milledgeville, and Tim Smith (Christine) of Eatonton, two brothers, Warren M. Layfield (Janet) and Richard F. Layfield (Estelle) both of Milledgeville, a step-daughter Rosa Lynn Wilcher of Gordon, grandchildren, Thomas Smith, Kylie Smith, Kara Smith, Allison Smith and Christopher Strickland (Jennifer), and one great grandchild, Brianna. Also left to cherish her memories are her nieces, Lisa Vaughn, Karen Hamilton, Stacey Flury and Anne Fernandez . 

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Black Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 673 Sparta Highway, NE, Milledgeville, GA 31061.
