Marvin B. Grimes, 92, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Memory Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Grimes was a native and life-long resident of Milledgeville where he attended GMC.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Battery D. He was co-owner of L.L. Grimes & Sons Plumbing and co-owner of Marvin B. Grimes & Sons Inc., Plumbing, Heating & Cooling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon Livingston and Bessie Ward Grimes; his wife, Catherine Bloodworth Grimes, sister, Lucille Grimes; and brothers, Charles and Putt Grimes.
Survivors include three sons, Walter Grimes (Lily), Charles Grimes (Marsha), Gerald Grimes (Karen), all of Milledgeville; two daughters, Ginger Willson (Ron) of Suwanee and Cindy Grimes of Milledgeville; two sisters, Elizabeth Aubel of Greenville, Penn., and Mildred Blackwell of Milledgeville; 10 grandchildren, Spencer, Allison, and Rob Tillman, Gabriel Grimes, Olivia Grimes Nichols, Chase and Cord Grimes, Hays Maynard, Rob Grimes and Logan Youngblood; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
