William "Bill" Locke

MILLEDGEVILLE — Graveside funeral services for Mr. William "Bill" S. Locke Sr., 83, were held 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Dublin Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Kyle Giddens officiating.

Mr. Locke was born March 22, 1930 in Alamo. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late James William Locke and Julia Purvis Locke; two sisters, Emily (Jesse) Grimes and Mary (Ed) Bond; and a grandson, Mathew Steven Weldon. He was a member of Olivet Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and was a member of Boundary Builder Sunday School class. He was also a member of The Gideon's International and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a former funeral director for Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Locke passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014.

He is survived by his wife, Rosalyn Couey Locke of Dublin; a son, Stan (Denise) Locke of Milledgeville; two daughters, Cathy (Kenny) Weldon and Lee Ann (Leon) Horne, all of Dublin; four brothers, Eddie "Buddy" (Abbey) Locke of Scotland, Silas (Nell) Locke, Joel (Karen) Locke and Jimmy (Gay) Grimes all of Dublin, three sisters, Judy (Ralph) Jones of Warner Robins, Jane Bridges of Dublin, and Karen (David) Price of Dublin; grandchildren, Chris (Christine) Horne, Samantha Locke, Ashley (Evan Melton) Weldon Joshua Weldon and Jon Luke Horne; one great-grandchild, Anya Horne; and many loving caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Olivet Baptist Church Building Fund, 1685 Highway 19, Dublin, Ga. 31021 or Integrity Hospice, 1101 B, Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, Ga. 31021.
