Geneva Weston Wagner

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mrs. Geneva Weston Wagner, 78, passed away Friday, Feb. 28, 2014.

Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 3 p.m. in Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Andy Adams officiating. Interment will be private.

The family will be at the church from 2 p.m. until the service hour to receive friends.

Mrs. Wagner was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and had lived in Mississippi before making her home in Milledgeville. She was the daughter of the late Francis M. and Ruth Windsor Weston. Mrs. Wagner had attended Florida State University and Belhaven University, achieving her bachelors degree in physical chemistry. She worked as a medical librarian for the Episcopal Hospital School of Nursing, the public library in Forest, Miss., and the University Hospital of Jackson, Miss. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 6 of Milledgeville and Covenant Presbyterian Church.

In her youth she was trained by her father, a member of the Audobon Society and its leading ornithologist in the Pensacola area. She continued her interest lifelong.

She is survived by her husband the Rev. James R. Wagner of Milledgeville; daughter, Ruth Ann (Bill) Holt of Bolingbroke; and son, James R. (Elizabeth) Wagner Jr. of Savannah; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren also survive.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to American Legion Child Welfare Fund or Covenant Presbyterian Church, Milledgeville, Ga. 31061.
