MILLEDGEVILLE — James M. Doke, 78, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2013. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with burial to follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Doke was a native and resident of Wilkinson County. He was a retired electrical engineer with Robins Air Force Base.  He was a veteran of the United States Army and was retired from the Georgia National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Dewey and Mary Lou Roach Doke; his wife. Adelma Woodburn Doke; and two brothers, William Doke and Lewis Doke. He was a member of Laurel Branch Methodist Church.

Survivors include his daughters, Mary Frances Shirley (Rose Conner) of Gordon and Nancy Doke Brown (Scott) of Tacoma, Wash.; two sisters, Vera Bragg (Raymond) of Orlando and Georgia Doke of Toomsboro; two grandchildren, Patrick Register(Callie) and Adelma Rose Harpe; and two great-grandchildren Kadan and Tyler.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
