Frances Bozeman Gibbs Pagett

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mrs. Frances Bozeman Gibbs Pagett, 91, passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014. 

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 3 p.m. in Gordon United Methodist Church with the Rev. Steve Hamrick and the Rev. Doug Mays officiating.  Interment will follow in Ramah Cemetery.

The family will be in the church social hall from 2 p.m. until the service hour to receive friends.

Mrs. Pagett was born Nov. 20, 1922 in Twiggs County.  She had lived all of her adult life in Gordon.  She was predeceased by her first husband, Mr. Jesse Brundage “Bubba” Gibbs; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Gibbs Wicker; and second husband, Roscoe Pagett.

Mrs. Pagett was a graduate of the Woman’s College of Georgia.  She retired from the Wilkinson County school system having served as a classroom teacher and school librarian. She was a member of Gordon United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Pagett is survived by two daughters, Dr. Elizabeth (Jimmy) Youngblood of Milledgeville and Mrs. Sheila Vincent of Gordon; a son, Lloyd (Gail) Gibbs of Gordon; ten grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and sister, Mrs. Carolyn Sherwood of Macon.

Flowers will be accepted, or the family requests donations be made to Serenity Hospice or to the Gordon United Methodist Church Building Fund.
