Wayne Bernard Bradley obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Wayne Bernard Bradley, 68, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013.

Mr. Bradley was a native of Greene County but had made his home in Milledgeville.

In 1966 he received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Georgia and earned his doctorate of Juris Prudence from John Marshall School of Law in 1972. After law school, he served as assistant DA with the Oconee area circuit before opening his private practice in 1976.

He was an active member of the State Board of Georgia and served on the Board of Governors for 19 years. He was a cattle farmer and loved to quail hunt with his dog, Billybob.

He was a member of Quail Unlimited as well as Trout Unlimited and had a passion for preserving the environment for future generations.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Eleanor Copelan, and his father, Bernard Bell Bradley.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Betsy Waldrop Bradley; his son, Matthew Alexander Bradley, both of Milledgeville; and his daughter, Kimberly Philo Bradley of Atlanta.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home. Services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home. Burial will be Beside the Still Waters at Baldwin Memorial Gardens. 

In lieu of flowers, friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Nature Conservancy at www.nature.org or to Quail Unlimited at www.qu.org.
