MILLEDGEVILLE — Lavonia Myrick Lord went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 21, 2013. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 24, at Ivey Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.

She was born to Walter and Lillie Mae Myrick on December 17, 1927. She was the last child in her family of 10 brothers and sisters to depart.  Lavonia married Otha Lord, and they lived in Wilkinson County and were members of Ivey Baptist Church. After Otha's death she moved to Macon where she joined New Heights Baptist Church.

During her last days Lavonia was at Lynn Haven in Gray where she received tremendous love and support from the staff. Her, nieces JoAnn Wilkinson, Agnes Mercer and Jean Fountain, gave her tremendous love and support during her last days. Their love and support meant so very much to her family in Texas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Murray Lanier Lord.  

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Freeman and son-in-law Steve Freeman from Austin, Texas; three grandchildren: Laurien Smith, Megan Trad and Greg Freeman, all of Austin, Texas; and two beautiful great-grandchildren, Levi Trad and Charlotte Smith. She has a wonderful loving extended family of nieces and nephews.    

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home.
