Miriam Dominy obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Miriam Ruth Montford Dominy, 89, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 11a.m . Saturday, May 25 at Popular Springs North Baptist Church Cemetery in Laurens County.  The Rev. Jerry Bradley will officiate.

Mrs. Dominy was a native of Laurens County but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a retired seamstress and adult educator at Central State Hospital. After her retirement she volunteered in the Kidd Building at Central State Hospital, and she enjoyed traveling and working with her daylilies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Henry and Ruth Colley Montford, and her husband, Alden B. Dominy. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Milledgeville.

Survivors include her daughters, Joan (Tim) Williams and Cynthia Simpson, all of Milledgeville; sister, Nell (Jack) Hall and their son Dr. H.G. Hall, all of Swainsboro; three  grandchildren, Matthew (Dawn) Williams, Charles N. (Shanna) Simpson and Steven (Laurie) Simpson; six great-grandchildren, Clara Ruth Williams, Ethan Simpson, Hunter Simpson, Gregory Simpson, Nathan Simpson and Lauryn Simpson.

The family will receive friends at the church after the services on Saturday.

The family request that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Milledgeville.
