Melody Ayle Glass obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — 9/2/1953 — 7/22/2013

My wife, my love, my best friend, Mel passed away Monday, July 22, 2013.  I never knew a sweeter, more generous soul. She was at home, within sight of her beautiful garden and surrounded by her loving family. Mel was 59, much too young for this to happen. She was born in Pennsylvania and had lived in Macon since 1981. She retired from a career in auto parts sales and management in 1997 and was a dedicated volunteer with local organizations helping those in need.

Mel will forever be in the hearts of her family: her husband, Jerry Glass, and her loyal rescue dog, Natalie, both of Macon; her parents, Dutch and Judy Ayle of DuBois Penn.; her sister, Valerie Ryals (Royce) of DuBois Penn.; Jerry's sisters, Lynne Herndon (Ronnie) of Milledgeville; Jan Glass of Isle of Palms, S.C.; her nieces and her many wonderful friends.

The hole in the heart of each of us who love her will never mend. She was seldom afraid and fought her cancer fiercely.

Honor Mel and her courageous battle with donations to cancer research, a local animal rescue group (she loved animals so), the Mentors Project of Bibb County, P.O. Box 13750, Macon, Ga. 31208; Bibb County Meals on Wheels, P.O. Box 6333, Macon, Ga. 31208; and/or Pennsylvania Wildlife Habitat Unlimited (PWHU), P.O. Box 851, DuBois, Penn. 15801.

My heart now beats for two. My hand reaches for your hand. My soul will follow your soul. I will always love you. I will always love you.

The family can be reached at 5890 Northern Dancer Drive, Macon, Ga. 31210 and 1657 Salem Road, DuBois, Penn. 15801.
