Mary Richardson

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mary W. Richardson, 87, joined her Heavenly Father on Friday morning surrounded by her loving family.

Mary and Ed were devoted to each other and enjoyed spending time together. Following Ed’s retirement from Georgia Kraft, they made wood crafts and spent Saturday mornings together at the Farmer’s Market selling their beautiful works of art. Mary loved the Lord, and she was a member of Wheeler Heights Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 62 years, William “Ed” Richardson; son, Wayne Richardson; great-grandson, Connor Bower; and brothers, Frank Wood and Gene Wood.

She was a caring and devoted mother to her children, Kay Richardson Marsh (Ray) of Macon and Debbie Richardson Bower (Johnny) of Twiggs County. She was adored as “Granny” by her grandchildren, Nickie Richardson, Phillip Marsh (Jennifer), Becky Richardson Toole (fiancé, Ashley Million), Justin Marsh (Christie), Andy Bower (Robin), John Bower (fiancée Katie Simpson) and Bridget Harris (Bryant); and by her 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Edgar Wood and Glenn Wood, both of Coopers.

The family may be contacted at the residence of Kay and Ray Marsh, and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Wheeler Heights Baptist Church. The Rev. Franklin Etheridge and the Rev. Jesse Richardson will officiate. A graveside service will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Baldwin County.
