Roy Raborn

MILLEDGEVILLE — Leland Roy Raborn, 100, former lifelong resident of Greenwood, S.C., widower of Edna Burris Raborn, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

Born in Greenwood, he was the son of the late David Julius Raborn and Susie Elizabeth McKinney Raborn. Roy was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and retired from Fred Smith Company. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a son, Barry Raborn (Kay) of Spruce Pine, N.C.; two grandchildren, Ashley Harrington (Ryan) of Milledgeville and Allyson Meredith Raborn of Spruce Pines, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, William Brock Harrington, Evan Tyler Harrington and Saylor Ryan Harrington.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Riddle officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Sunday at the funeral home from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

The family is at their respective homes.
