MILLEDGEVILLE — Milton Byron Moore, 91, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Kevin Meeks and the Rev. Bill Kitchen officiating. Burial will follow at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Mr. Moore was a native of Comer but had made his home in Milledgeville since 1950. He was a coach and educator and retired from the Georgia Department of Probation & Parole. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served during World War II and the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Helen McCannon Moore, and a son, Milton Wayne Moore. He was a member of Hardwick Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Denny D. Moore (Tina) of Marietta; grandchildren, Anita M. Wooden (Ronnie), Robert B. Moore, Branden H. Moore, Lindsay C. Moore and Josie H. Moore; great-grandchildren, Kevin Meeks (Tasha), Haley Meeks, Taylor Wooden, Levi Wooden, Alexis Moore, Kayla Moore, Zaida Moore and Ian Moore; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
