Lois Townsend Rhodes obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Funeral Services for Mrs. Lois Townsend Rhodes, 97, will be conducted Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 11 a.am. in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Rochelle, Ga., with the Rev. Dr. Jerry Pickard and the Rev. Louie Tripp officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The family also will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home in Milledgeville Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 6 until 8 pm.

Mrs. Rhodes passed away June 24, 2013. She was a native of Turner County and had made her home in Milledgeville with her daughter for the past 13 years.

The widow of the late M.C. Rhodes and daughter of the late Taylor and Alice Pate Townsend was predeceased by a son, Harry Rhodes; granddaughter, Juanika Rhodes; sisters, Elnita Pitts, Mary Stephens and Elise Hampton; and brothers Tiny, Jack, and Buddy Townsend.

She was retired from Dosters Peanut Warehouse and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Milledgeville. She was pianist at Pleasant Grove and Pine City churches for more than 40 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Brookins, and two grandchildren, Pam Brookins and Bill Brookins, all of Milledgeville.

In Lieu of flowers the family request expressions of sympathy to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.Box 794, Milledgeville, Ga. 31059-0794.

Williams Funeral Home & Crematory of Milledgeville has charge of arrangements.
