Burglary

A woman at an Allen Memorial Drive residence reported the theft of several tractor attachments and a lawn mower sometime between June 6 and June 7. According to the owner, an unknown person or persons entered onto her property without permission and took tractor attachments, a mower valued at $2,000, a tiller, and an utility trailer valued at $5,000.

Counterfeiting

An employee at a North Columbia Street Dollar General reported receiving a counterfeit $100 bill sometime during the day on June 10.  When making a deposit at Century Bank, a bank employee informed the store employee of the counterfeit bill and the employee and filed a report. The store employee told the teller that a woman came into the store around noon on the previous day and tried to pay with a $100 bill that she refused to take. She offered a second bill, which she accepted.

Theft by Taking

A man at a Shana Drive residence reported the theft of his car rims sometime before 8:13 a.m. June 10. When the man went outside to his car, he discovered that an unknown person or persons had taken the set of 20-inch rims off of his car.

Theft by Deception

An employee of a title loan business on North Columbia Street reported a fraud incident by a female. On March 29 the female came into the business and took out a $2,725 loan on the vehicle that she owned. As of June 11 the complainant received information that the woman had gone to the county tag office in Wilkinson County and had the lean removed from the title of the vehicle. She also had the car re-registered in Jones County.

Theft by Taking

A motel manager at a North Columbia Street motel reported the theft of items from one of the rooms at approximately 10:30 a.m. June 11. A female registered at the motel and paid for two rooms around 4 a.m. When cleaning personnel entered the rooms the next day, they noticed three blankets, two hand cloths, and two wash cloths were missing.

Burglary

Officers were dispatched to a West Bryant Street apartment June 12 in reference to a forced entry burglary. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant who stated that when he came home he discovered that his front door was damaged. He also told officers that his roommate’s girlfriend has previously broken into their apartment. No items were reported missing from the apartment.

Theft by Shoplifting

Officers were dispatched to Milledgeville Mall at approximately 6:02 p.m. June 11 in reference to a shoplifting incident. Upon arrival they spoke with a Belk prevention associate who stated that he observed a man quickly taking selections from the fragrance department to the handbags area. The man placed the stolen cologne bottles into one of the handbags then covered it with another empty purse. He picked up the bags and attempted to leave the store without paying for the items.
