Lois Snyder Payne obit, Nov. 12, 2013

MILLEDGEVILLE — Lois Snyder Payne, 89, passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Beverly McLaren officiating. Burial will follow in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Washington County.

Mrs. Payne was a native of Washington County and lived in Macon for many years before moving to Milledgeville. She worked for First National Bank in Macon for many years and was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. She was former President of the PBX Club and a member of Southside Methodist Church in Macon. She was preceded in death by her parents Cleveland L. and Annie Osborne Snyder, and a son, John Snyder.

Survivors include her son, Allen Wood of Raleigh, N.C.; her daughters, Jewell Batchelor (Louie) of Milledgeville and Elizabeth Dean of Macon; a sister, Ruby Crowe of Milledgeville; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
