Viola Harper Hurt

MILLEDGEVILLE — Celebration of life for Mrs. Viola Harper Hurt of Milledgeville will be on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013.

Services will begin at 11 a.m. at Saint Paul Baptist Church, 485 Meriwether Road, Milledgeville, with the interment following at the church cemetery.

Remains will be in state at 10 a.m. until the hour of service.

Mrs. Hurt departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, at her residence. She was a faithful and devoted member of St. Paul Baptist Church having served as a choir member and past president, member of St. Mary's Society, and a member of O.A.C. Senior Center volunteering her services for those in need of help.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory; 10 children, Robert(Hattie)Hurt, Sylvester (Tacye) Hurt of Milledgeville, Ennis Hurt of Washington, D.C., Annie Louise Johnson, Dissie Hurt Larkin of Milledgeville, Juanita Williams of Haddock, Althier (J.W.) Eady, Doris Wilborn of Lithonia, Laurie(David)Foster of Atlanta and Mary Hurt (Richard) Hughes of Macon; two sisters, Mrs.Clyde Paschal and Mrs. Essie Carrington; 35 grandchildren, a loving host of great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; devoted care takers, Lula Lewis, Betty Jackson, Ruby Johnson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

Mrs.Hurt was preceded in death by her late husband Robert Hurt Sr.; daughter, Evelyn Hurt Brown; sons, Albert Hurt and Ernest Lee Hurt; and granddaughter, Tara Hurt.
