MILLEDGEVILLE — WARRENTON — Mrs. Elizabeth Huff Abbott, 87, beloved wife of the late Mr. Julian W. Abbott of Hill Street, died Saturday April 6, 2013, at Weddington Park Assisted Living Center.

Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday April 11, 2013, at First United Methodist Church of Warrenton with the Revs. Susannah Davis, Ted Miller and Jim Hanna officiating. Burial followed in the Johnson Cemetery.  Mrs. Abbott lay in state one hour prior to the funeral services at the church.

Mrs. Abbott was the daughter of the late Charles and Leila Huff. She was a graduate of Georgia Women's College and a retired school teacher having taught in Hancock, Warren and McDuffie counties. Mrs. Abbott as an active member of the First United Methodist Church serving as a Sunday school teacher and church pianist. In addition, Mrs. Abbott was a member of the Warrenton Bridge Club.

Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Betsy Abbott and Charles Tillamn Sr. of Indian Trail, N.C.; her son and daughter in law, Charles Vinceson Sr. and Merrianna Abbott of Greenville, S.C.; one sister, Dotie (Ed) Menger of Milledgeville; four grandchildren, Charles (Angela) Tillman Jr., Andrew Tillman, Holly Tillman (Brad) Wahab, Charles Abbott Jr.; three great-grandchildren, Ethan Wahab, Katie Wahab and Nathan Tillman.

Pallbearers were Charles Tillman Jr., Andy Tillman, Brad Wahab, Charles Abbott Jr., Hunter Reese and Johnny Mack Coxwell.

The family received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at Lowe Funeral Home.
