Veroncia Stine obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Veronica Stine, daughter of the late Phillip A. Stine and Doris L. Stine, died at her residence in Milledgeville after returning from many years as a resident of Atlanta.

Veronica devoted most of her career years as a loving social worker to many clients in various settings in the Atlanta area. She had also been a teacher in the Indochinese program there.

She volunteered for many years in her church parish HIV/Aids outreach program, ministering to those in need. She will be best remembered for her spiritually, love for St. Francis, her kindness and devotion to anyone in need, and her hearty and hardy laughter and sense of humor, as well as her love of animals.

She is survived by her sister, Beth Stine (Bob Hovey); her adored nephews and niece, Troy Davis, Ben Davis (Missi), and Sieren Hovey; as well as her dear Aunt Martha McMahon Stewart; and many cherished relatives and friends including Esther Guernica, Jim Joiner, Ann Patterson and Hal Westmoreland.

Veronica’s wish was to die as she had lived without fanfare, pretense or inconvenience. Her expressed wishes were for cremation without services.

The family expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. Wes King for his care and compassion for our beloved sister, aunt, niece and friend.

The family will receive friends on Friday April 12, 2013, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations in Veronica’s memory to honor Sieren Hovey can be made to the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia, 5072 Bristol Industrial Way, Suite F, Buford, Ga. 30518, or the Animal Rescue Foundation of Milledgeville, 711 S. Wilkinson St., Milledgeville, GA 31061.
