Beatrice Griswold obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Celebration of life service for Mrs. Beatricce Harris Griswold of Haddock, Ga., will be held on Monday May 6, 2013, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 508 Ga. Highway 49, Milledgeville. Services will begin at noon with the interment following at Brown Grove C.M.E Cemetery. Remains will be placed in state at 11 a.m. until the service hour.  

The cortege will assemble at 1034 Ga. Highway 22 East, Haddock. It was on Wednesday, May 1, 2013, that Beatrice was called home to glory. She was a faithful and very devoted member of her church serving as an usher, church mother, church secretary and a member of the missionary board.

Mrs. Griswold also served as secretary at Perdue Tabernacle A.M.E. Church, president of the Jordan Chapel Society, and a member of Brothers and Sisters of Help Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Johnnie Griswold Jr. She leaves a legacy of love and memories to be cherished by three sons, Charlie (Ruth) Griswold, Ronnie Preston (Vickie) Griswold, both of Milledgeville, and Theotis (Brenda) Griswold of Macon; two daughters, Fannie G. Blount and Dorothy G. (Freddie) Wilson of Haddock; daughter in law, Viola Griswold; a very, very devoted niece; sister Geraldine Dennis; devoted friends, Callie Greene, Gladys Grady, Bernistine Ransom, Johnnie Mae Dixon, Jerry Williams and family, Deacon J.C. Hogan; 58 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
