MILLEDGEVILLE — S. Claude Bailey, 64, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19 at Georgia Veteran Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr. Bailey was a native of Monroe County and grew up in Milledgeville and attended Peabody School. He joined the U.S. Marines and served in Vietnam where he was a recipient of the Purple Heart and Silver Star. He later attended Georgia State University and graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration. He was an office manager with Atlanta Gas Light Company for many years, and upon his retirement he moved to Woodbury to become a farmer.

Survivors include his son, Brad Bailey of Norfolk, Va.; his daughter, Jodi Webb (John) of Milledgeville; his uncle, Henry Jackson, and nephew, Randy Jackson, both of Conyers; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
