Margie Brooks obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Margie Elizabeth Jaynes Brooks, 78, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, February 18, at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Jerry Pickard officiating.

Mrs. Brooks was a native of Ethelsville, Ala., and made her home in Alabama and also in Milledgeville. She was retired from the Veterans Unit at Central State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leander and Mary Ellen Jaynes; her husband, Roy Harris Brooks; and siblings Herbert Jaynes and Boyd Jaynes and Hortence Lollar. She was a member of the Ethelsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki B. Newsome of Gordon and Mary O. Simpson of Ivey; three brothers, Charles Jaynes (Ann) of Birmingham, Ala., Bobby Jaynes (Vivy) of Columbus, Miss., and Larry Jaynes (Linda) of Ethelsville, Ala.; a sister, Doris Neil (Jerry) of Birmingham, Ala.; four grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
