Doyle Robert Lindsey

MILLEDGEVILLE — Services for Doyle Robert Lindsey, 85, of Dublin will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 at Marie Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rentz City Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Hutto will officiate. He passed away on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Mr. Lindsey was born in Rentz to the late Albert and Clyde Knight Lindsey. He was a member of Marie Baptist Church and the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Senior Citizens Young at Heart and an inactive Deacon at Marie Baptist Church. Mr. Lindsey was a former member of the Laurens County Sportsman Club and the Dublin Civitan Club. He retired from Dublin Coca Cola Company after 34 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen L. Register.

Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Hodges Lindsey of Dublin; daughters, Patricia L. (Tommy) Williams of Milledgeville, Judy L. (Danny) Cook of Dudley and Debbie L. (Kyle) Fordham of Dublin; grandchildren, Chan (Shannon) Williams of Milledgeville, Robbie (Laura) Cook of Dudley, Ryan (Kim) Cook of Dublin, Richie Cook of Savannah, Lindsey (Josh) Davis of Lampasses, Texas and Scott (Abby) Stuckey of East Dublin; great-grandchildren, Brooke Williams of Milledgeville, Camille and Anderson Cook, both of Dudley, Riley and Bailey Cook, both of Dublin, Austin, Alex and Amy Davis, all of Lampasses, Texas and Jacob Stuckey of East Dublin; sister-in-law, Fay Myers of Dexter; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Cook, Brett Bowden, Alan Myers, Colby Myers, Cameron Gay, Jeff Foskey and Steve Burdeshaw. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Marie Baptist Church and members of the Men’s Adult Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until funeral hour at Marie Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marie Baptist Church Building Fund, 589 Perry Dairy Road, Dublin, Ga. 31021.
