Brooks Andrew "Bubber" Snider Sr.

MILLEDGEVILLE — Brooks Andrew "Bubber" Snider Sr., 81, passed away Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Nunn-Wheeler Cemetery.

Mr. Snider was a native of Washington County but had made his home in Milledgeville. He worked for the American Coach Company and J.P. Stevens and was retired from the Engineering Department at Central State Hospital. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents Louie and Thelma Snider and a sister Lora S. Miller. Mr. Snider was an avid gardener and was famous for growing tomatoes and peppers and had a passion for hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Dent Snider; son, Brooks A. Snider, Jr. (Karen); daughter, Julie Snider Griffin, all of Milledgeville; two brothers, Bill Snider (Cora) of Tenille, James Snider (Sybil) of Milledgeville; two sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Jenny Bell Medlin, both of Milledgeville; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends who wish may make contributions to American Heart Association.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until 2 at Moores Funeral Home.
