MILLEDGEVILLE — Mary Frances Brookins, 77, passed away Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013. Services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Jerry Pickard and the Rev. Brandon Furr officiating. Burial followed at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Brookins was a native of Colquitt but had made her home in Milledgeville. She was a graduate of Miller County High School and the Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She retired from Central State Hospital after 34 years of devoted service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hortense and Mervin Bundy and her husband Edward L. "Benny" Brookins. She was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include: her daughters, Sue Garnto (Tony), Cathy Cook (Richard Lankford), Kay Smith (John C.) and Yvonne Langford (Danny), all of Milledgeville; a brother, William ÒBillyÓ Bundy (Patsy) of Colquitt; a sister, Eloise Bundy Cook of Colquitt; three brothers-in-law, Jimmy Lee Brookins (Glenda) of Texas, Donald Brookins of Florence, S.C. and Gene Brookins (Cathy) of Macon; eight grandchildren, Katelyn Garnto Westbrook, Taylor Garnto, Crystal Cook, Willie Fred Cook III, Anthony Oltremari, Chris Oltremari, Pamela Smith and Eddie Langford; and eight great-grandchildren.
