Robert Hawthorne

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mr. Robert William Hawthorne, 73, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at Williams White Columns Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 6 until 8.

Mr. Hawthorne was a life long resident of Gordon, son of the late Howard Leon “Bud” Hawthorne and the late Evelyn Lee Hawthorne. He retired from Engelhard where he was foreman of the shipping department. Mr. Hawthorne was preceded in death by his son Stevie Hawthorne and his brother Leon “June Bug” Hawthorne.

Survivors include: his wife, Sue Hoke Hawthorne of Gordon; daughters, Keary Harrison of Toomsboro and Denita (Mike) Turner of Vidalia; sons, Mark Motes of Gordon, Steve (Paula) King of Macon, Mike (Linda) Peavy and Alan Peavy of York, S.C.; sister, Margaret (Reid) Sims of Gordon; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
