Mike and Lenora Bermes obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mr. Mike Bermes, 86, passed away Friday, April 12, 2013.

Mrs. Lenora  Jones Register Bermes, 87, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013.

Joint funeral services  be conducted for Lenora and Mike Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. in Hardwick Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Kitchen officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville, Tuesday April 16, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. to receive friends.

Mrs. Bermes was a native of St. Augustine, Fla., and had been raised in Laurens County, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Dennis Jackson Jones and Cornelia Johnson Jones and was also preceded in death by husbands, Bernard Albert Register and Michael Edward Bermes. She was a licensed cosmetologist, retired bookkeeper at Central State Hospital  and a member of the Eastern Star and Hardwick Baptist Church.

Mr. Bermes was a native of Chicago and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired fireman with the City of Chicago Fire Dept. and was a member of the Benevolent Lodge # 3 F&AM, a member of the Order of The Eastern Star and a member and deacon of Hardwick Baptist Church.

Mr. Bermes was predeceased by his wife, Darlene Catherine Rogal, and his parents, Edward Bermes and Matilda Schnoes Bermes.

Survivors include his son, Daniel Michael Bermes of Downers Grove, Ill.;

grandchildren, Michael Daniel Bermes of Beaumont, Texas; Dawn (Clint) Durden of Warthen, Wendy (Wes) Warnock of Milledgeville, John (Cyndi) Garner Jr. of Tennille, Amy (Kevin) Whitlock of Valdosta and Missy (Shane) Hart of Deepstep; and 12 great-grandchildren

She is survived by her daughter, Mary R. (John C.) Garner of Warthen; son, Bernard A. (Terri) Register Jr. of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Dawn (Clint) Durden of Warthen, Wendy (Wes) Warnock of Milledgeville, John (Cyndi) Garner Jr. of Tennille, Amy (Kevin) Whitlock of Valdosta and Missy (Shane) Hart of Deepstep; and 12 great-grandchildren.

For those who wish, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hardwick Baptist Church.
