Rose Marie Ussery Blizzard

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mrs. Rose Marie Ussery Blizzard, 77, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Blizzard was a native of Wilkinson County but had made her home in Milledgeville. She received a bachelor’s degree in nursing and psychology from Georgia College, now GC&SU. She was a retired registered nurse with Central State Hospital. Mrs. Blizzard was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clemon and Lucile Ussery; two brothers, Buford Ussery and Otis Ussery; and her sister, Lois U. Whitaker. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband of more than 60 years, William R. “Bobby” Blizzard of Milledgeville; two sons, David Blizzard (Shirley) of Milledgeville, Mike Blizzard (Gena) of McIntyre; two daughters, Tracey B. Snow (Chris) and Kay B. Chandler, both of Milledgeville, 10 grandchildren: Beth Blizzard, Hayley Blizzard, Tyler Snow (Jana), Clay Snow, LeeAnn Pickel (Dennis), Jamie Smith, Rhett Blizzard, Ryan Blizzard, Lynsey Rowland, Kendall Rowland; one great-grandchild, Davin Pickel; and a special caregiver, Annie “Nita” Simmons Flournoy.
