MILLEDGEVILLE — Mrs. Rubye Idell Snow Lockaby, 89, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014. Funeral services were held on Sunday, July 6, 2014, at 4 p.m. in the Williams Funeral Home of Milledgeville chapel. Interment was in Snow Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Lockaby was the daughter of the late Clarence Louie Snow and Mattie Etheridge Snow and the wife of the late Horace Lee Lockaby. Mrs. Lockaby was a native of Wilkinson County and spent most of her life in Baldwin County. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as secretary for more than 20 years, and was the longest serving member. Mrs. Lockaby was retired from Central State Hospital and a member of Grace Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lockaby is survived by her sons, Wayne (Sue) Lockaby of Ivey and Robert Lockaby of Milledgeville; special niece, Rebecca Moore of Milledgeville; sisters, Barbara Snow Boone and Janice Snow Hall; brothers, Cecil Snow, James Henry Snow and Louie W. Snow; four grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Awareness Society.
