Mamye Biggs

MILLEDGEVILLE — Mrs. Mamye Edna Wood Biggs, 91, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 3 p.m. in Williams Funeral Home Chapel of Milledgeville with the Rev. Bill Kitchen officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 2 p.m. until the service hour.

Mrs. Biggs was a native of Wilkinson County and had lived in Milledgeville for the past 18 years moving from Hyattsville, Md.  She was the daughter of the late Abner Jones Wood and Jewell Cannon Wood and was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Biggs Sr., brothers, Lester E. Wood and Gordon E. Wood, and sister, Jesse E. Miller. She worked for Prince George County School System and was a member of Hardwick Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son James R. Biggs Jr. of Milledgeville; grandchildren Mamye (Aaron) Fruge of Louisiana, Grandolph Biggs of Milledgeville and Chas Biggs of Louisiana; and six great grandchildren.
