Myrtle McLeod Chapman, 81, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013. Services were held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 21, at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Wilson and the Rev. John Dubose officiating. Burial followed at Memory Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Chapman was a native of McRae and lived in Macon before moving to Milledgeville in 1964. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of NARFE.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Allie and Lessie Lee Spires McLeod; her husband, William “Bill” Chapman; son, Allan Chapman; brother, Marvin L. McLeod; and a grandson, Joey Chapman. She was a member of First Christian Church.
Survivors include a son, Wayne Chapman (Fran) of Milledgeville; daughter-in-law, Lee Chapman of Macon; sister, Elizabeth M. Wilson and brother, Fred A. McLeod (Gerri) both of Marietta; three grandchildren, Mirla Bigda, Lisa Young and Jim Chapman; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Young, Joseph Young, Lauren Bigda, Mathew Bigda and Joey Chapman.
