Charles T. Deal

MILLEDGEVILLE — Charles T. Deal, 89, of Roopville passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. He was born on April 3, 1925 in Carters, the son of the late A. W. Deal Sr. and the late Tennie E. Deal. 

Mr. Deal retired from Boilermakers Local 26 in Savannah after 37 years of service.  Following his retirement, he opened a lawnmower repair shop which he operated for 16 years.  Mr. Deal was a member of the No. 3 Benevolent Masonic Lodge out of Milledgeville and Eastern Star of Carrollton.  He was also a member of the New Lebanon Baptist Church in Lowell. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Joey A. Deal, five sisters and one brother.  Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Bertha Deal; son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Brenda Deal of Milledgeville; daughter, Tenny Burnett of Roopville and daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Kenneth Smith of Monticello; seven grandchildren, Deana Stanley, Brian Deal, Tonya Newton, Scott Smith, Rusty Burnett, Anthony Deal and Jennifer Pittman; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Aaron W. and Pauline Deal of Newnan and Billy J. and Jettie Deal of Bethlehem; and several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with the Rev. Larry Scott officiating. Those serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Burnett, Anthony Deal, Mike Newton, Scott Smith, Aaron Newton and Gerald Maxwell.  Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.  

The family received friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8.  Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at  Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
