Aubrey 'Bud' Criswell obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Aubrey “Bud” Criswell, 77, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 20 at Toomsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Thigpen and the Rev. Johnny Jackson. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.   

Mr. Criswell was a native and life-long resident of Wilkinson County. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for the American Coach Company for 18 years and was a self-employed building contractor before working for the Ga. Department of Corrections as a maintenance supervisor.

He was a member of the Toomsboro Baptist Church serving as a deacon, choir director and Sunday school superintendent.

The youngest of 16 children, he grew up with a deep love for music. Playing the guitar and singing was his way of fulfilling a passion instilled in him since childhood.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Rose Dominy Criswell of Toomsboro; a son, Scott Criswell (Rhonda) of Irwinton; two daughters, Renita Salter (Mark) of Eatonton and Angela Criswell; two brothers, Ivey G. Criswell Jr. of Tennille and Milton Criswell of McIntyre; a sister, Audrey Akin of Milledgeville; five grandchildren, Holly Williams (Derek), Candace Bevins, Olivia Salter, Krystal Veal and Beth Criswell; and two great-grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
