Wilbur Archer obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Wilbur Hines Archer, 89, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Oliver officiating.

Mr. Archer was born in Washington County and lived in Baldwin County. He was a retired farmer known far and wide for his generosity and love of his family and community.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Baxter and Willie Mae Archer; brothers, Grover Archer and Dewey Archer; and a sister, Rubye Brantley.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Harmony Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alice J. Archer; his son, Lynn Archer; two daughters, Linda Morrison (Fred) and Rita Young, all of Milledgeville; two brothers, Herman Archer of Milledgeville and Cohen Archer of Sandersville; three sisters, Sally Brantley of Wrightsville, Virginia Jones of Gray and Patsy Blount of Albany; six grandchildren: Aaron Archer, Ryan Archer and Levi Archer, Niki Simmons, Jason Roberts and Jessica Roberts; a number of step-grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
