Marjorie Maddox obit

MILLEDGEVILLE — Marjorie Maddox, 78 occurred Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Services will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with burial to follow at Baldwin Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Maddox was born in Fannin County near McCaysville but had made her home in Milledgeville for many years. She was a graduate of Epworth High School and Georgia Baptist Nursing School receiving her RN degree and her bachelor of science degree from The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. She was a retired employee of Central State Hospital having served as director of nursing. She was a long time member of the Hardwick United Methodist Church and proceeded in death by her husband, Lewis Maddox. Survivors include her son, Howard Maddox (Denise) and her granddaughter Savannah Maddox, all of Fitzgerald, Ga.; one sister, Juanita Nix of North Augusta, S.C.; and one brother, Jimmy Bell of Port Jefferson, N.Y.

The family will be at Moores Funeral Home Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. for friends to call.

Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer Association or Gideon International.
