MILLEDGEVILLE — Mary Ann Spear Sturdivant, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 22. Private graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at Baldwin Memorial Gardens.

Ms. Sturdivant was a native of Blue Ridge, Ga., but had made her home in Birmingham, Ala., for most of her life.

She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Mable Spear; her husband, James Ralph Sturdivant; and a brother, Bobby Jordan Spear.

She was known as Mimi to her grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Sturdivant (Donna) of Trussville, Ala., and Barry Sturdivant (Janna) of Alabaster, Ala.; two daughters, Judy King of Marietta and Brenda Sturdivant of Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, Jimmy Spear and Ricky Spear (Margie), both of Milledgeville; three sisters, Vera Bales (Lonnie) and Gail Smith (Bill), both of Milledgeville, and Jeannette Florian (Fran) of Marietta; grandchildren, Katie Hatch of Winston-Salem, N.C., Nathan King of Marietta, Aaron, Daniel and Samuel Sturdivant, all of Alabaster.
