Bill Crowe

MILLEDGEVILLE — Charles William "Bill" Crowe, 74, of Greensboro passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013.

Bill was born Nov. 28, 1939 in East Point. He was a graduate of Russell High School in East Point and received a bachelor's degree in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech in 1961. He married Jewell Hamner in October 1967. Bill began working at Crowe Sign and Marine in East Point with his father in 1964. He was currently President of Crowe Marine Inc. in Eatonton at Lake Oconee. Bill was working full-time and was beloved by many customers over his 46 years in the marine industry. He enjoyed his two Welsh Corgi dogs Dolly and Conway, his grandchildren and traveling to Florida with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, C.D. Crowe, Jr. and Beverly Alverson Crowe. He is survived by his wife, Jewell "Julie" Hamner Crowe, of Greensboro; his son, Brian Crowe; his daughter-in-law, Beth Crowe of Eatonton; his daughter, Amy Crowe Kennedy; son-in-law, Robert Kennedy of Eatonton; his grandchildren, Courtney Crowe and Jackson Crowe; and his sisters, Cheryl Crowe Sandifer of Hendersonville, N.C., and Susan Crowe Satcher of Greensboro.

A memorial service will be at Grace Fellowship Church, Greensboro, on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014 at 3 p.m.

Interment services were held Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family received friends following the interment at historic Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, in Greensboro.
