McCook The Union-Recorder The death of Wilbur R. “Billy” McCook, age 95, occurred Wednesday in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Couey Reece Stanley funeral home with the burial to follow in Ramah Cemetery.
Mr. McCook was a native and life long resident of Wilkinson County and was a retired employee of Central State Hospital. He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Smith McCook, and son, Charles McCook. Survivors include his granddaughter, Sarah McCook Hardwerker (Swan) of McIntyre; brother, Byron McCook of Ivey; sisters, Mona Eady of McIntyre, and Connie Etheridge of Ivey; sister-in-law, Fannie McCook of McIntyre; and daughter-in-law, Flora McCook of McIntyre. The family will be at Couey Reece Stanley Funeral Home Thursday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. for friends to call. Couey Reece Stanley is in charge of arrangements.
