Honorable Judge Robert L. Burton, 86, of 6455 Highway 15 S., Sparta, died Nov. 4, 2009, at his Sparta residence.

His memories will be cherished by his wife of 54 years, Elease Burton; and his family, Raymond (Vanessa) Hill, Jacqueline Stevens of Atlanta, Doris Francis, Lois Yancy, Dorothy Burton, Denise (Michael) Ransom; a special friend, Shirley Ingram (Harry); and Christina (Darryl) McClin.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 8, 2009, at Nazareth Baptist Church in Sparta with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Melvin Ransom is the eulogist, and the Rev Danny Walker is pastor.

Ingram Brothers Funeral Home Inc., 249 Spring St., Sparta, has charge of arrangements.
