Arthur “Art” Leo Rauscher, 82, of Greenview Street, died Monday in Macon.
Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in gordon. Burial will be in Ramah Cemetery. The Rev. Darrell Young and the Rev. Randy Carnley will officiate.
Mr. Rauscher was born in Rochester, N.Y., the son of the late Joseph and Leona Laughlin Rauscher. He was retired from Freeport Kaolin and was self-employed in the upholstery business. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association. Mr. Rauscher was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II and was a Catholic. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Rauscher, Brenton Rauscher, Orville Rauscher, Victor Rauscher; and by his sister, Dixie Paradise.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Frances English Rauscher of Gordon. His sons, Arthur Franklin (Kay) Rauscher of Forsyth, Donald Joseph (Marsha) Rauscher of Dallas, and Kevin Lee (Penny) Rauscher of Irwinton; grandchildren, Clint Rauscher of Atlanta, Christopher D. (Courtney) Rauscher of Brunswick, Derek J. Rauscher of Kennessaw, Kevin Lee Rauscher Jr. of Milledgeville, and Crystal Turner of Irwinton; great-grandchildren, Ethan Rauscher of Brunswick, MacKenzie Rauscher of Brunswick; brother, Donald P. (Jill) Rauscher of Houston, Texas; sister, Leona Perry of Simpsonville, Ky., and Carol Ann (Joe) Amelang of Polaski, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, in the funeral home.
Couey-Reece-Stanley Funeral Home in Gordon has charge of arrangements.
